On July 25, 2016, Hallmark Nursing Center in Denver hosted an event dedicating a hallway in memory of an associate who passed away from cancer.
Liz Moreno worked for Life Care Centers of America, Hallmark Nursing Center’s parent company, for 12 years. She was a unit secretary at Hallmark when she was diagnosed, and it was a hallway on her unit that was renamed in her honor. She had served Hallmark for more than seven years.
The facility hosted the event for Moreno’s family and friends, as well as residents and associates at the center. The dedication included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a presentation of a plaque commemorating the dedication and the hanging of a sign designating the hallway “Moreno Hall.”
After the ceremony, the facility hosted a remembrance time with family and friends to share their memories about Moreno. Her son, Gian Moreno, as well has his wife, Denise, and their two children, attended.
“Liz will always be remembered as a wonderful and helpful person,” said Lucas Carroll, executive director. “The family was very appreciative of the event. They thought it was a great way to remember their mom.”
